Betaab Valley
Named after the Bollywood film "Betaab" shot here, this stunning valley is covered with lush greenery, snow-capped mountains, and crystal-clear streams. Aru Valley

Baisaran Valley

Chandanwari

Sheshnag Lake
A high-altitude alpine lake situated at 3,658m, Sheshnag is named after the legendary serpent with seven heads. Fed by melting glaciers, the blue-green lake remains partially frozen for most of the year. It's an important stopover on the Amarnath pilgrimage route and accessible via trekking.
Lidder River
The pristine Lidder River flows through Pahalgam, offering excellent opportunities for trout fishing (with permits), white-water rafting, and riverside walks. The river is fed by glaciers and maintains crystal-clear waters throughout the year. Several camping sites are located along its banks.

Numerous camping sites along the Lidder River and in meadows around Pahalgam. Both organized camping with facilities and independent camping options are available. Aru Valley and Baisaran are popular camping destinations.

Golfing
Pahalgam Golf Course, located in Baisaran, is one of the most scenic 18-hole golf courses. Surrounded by pine forests and mountains, it offers a unique golfing experience. The course is open from April to October.
Rock Climbing

How to Reach
By Air
Nearest airport is Srinagar International Airport (95 km, approximately 3 hours by road). Taxis and pre-booked cabs available from airport. Most hotels can arrange airport transfers. Helicopter services also available during Amarnath Yatra.
By Road from Srinagar
Route: Srinagar → Pampore → Awantipora → Bijbehara → Anantnag → Pahalgam (95 km, 2.5-3 hours). Well-maintained road with beautiful scenery. Taxis available from Srinagar TRC (₹4,000-5,000 round trip). Shared taxis also available.
By Bus
JKSRTC operates regular bus services from Srinagar to Pahalgam. Journey takes about 3-4 hours. Buses are economical but less comfortable than private taxis. Advance booking recommended during tourist season.
By Helicopter
During the Amarnath Yatra period (July-August), helicopter services operate from Srinagar to Pahalgam and from Pahalgam to Panjtarni. These services significantly reduce travel time and provide spectacular aerial views.
