Chashme Shahi

About Chashme Shahi

Chashme Shahi, meaning "Royal Spring," is the smallest but one of the most charming Mughal gardens in Kashmir. Built around a natural spring in 1632 AD by Governor Ali Mardan Khan during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan, this garden is renowned for its fresh mountain spring water believed to have medicinal properties. Located on the Zabarwan mountain range, it offers breathtaking views of Dal Lake and Srinagar city.

The garden is built on three terraces with the sacred spring, Chashme Sahibi, at its heart. The water from this spring is crystal clear and fresh, flowing down through a series of cascades and fountains. The compact design and elevated location make it a perfect spot for those seeking tranquility and spectacular panoramic views.
